accuweather and karen rogers watching those roads. good morning. >> well, a little bit cool this morning but we are drying out in most neighborhoods. take a look at storm tracker6 live double scan. you can see how most of the rain is now up over long island but there are a couple of little streaks of precipitation still running down into the region. one of them appears to be in montgomery county, moving into chester or delaware county and so mainly dry but some of you may be with a bit of a sprinkle. we're also looking at a fair amount of lingering clouds but there are some breaks opening up every now and then. i can see one of them rider over philadelphia and we are going to see the return of sunshine gradually as we go through the morning and afternoon. 55 degrees is the current temperature in philadelphia. 53 in allentown. 55 in wilmington. 54 in millville. 52 in trenton. and on your storm tracker6 app, veterans day is looking mainly dry after a couple of morning sprinkles we shouldn't have any more problems with rain and by noon, 62 degrees so also above average temperature-wise. by 3 o'clock that's your high, 65. it will be a bit on the breezy side today but not bad for this time of year in

philadelphia. when i step inside we have some more light rain returning into the forecast tomorrow. details with future tracker6 coming up there, karen. >> all right, dave, we've had a few early morning accidents and this is the big one on the ramp from i-95 northbound to woodhaven road. we've got a vehicle right here that's facing sideways. we've got police emergency workers, fire crews, ambulance all on the scene with this accident and traffic just squeezing by in the left lane and again this is the ramp from i-95 northbound to woodhaven road. it's not a day like yesterday where the rain was really coming down you've got puddles and ponding that you're driving through but it is damp out there and we have wet leaves so certainly be careful as you're headed out. here on i-95 at cottman we're seeing that southbound traffic head towards center city, nothing like yesterday. only a little bit of building volume southbound approaching cottman and approaching girard so not a problem right there. on the big picture, though, we had an accident in fairmount park right on lincoln drive where a single vehicle accident just smashed into a guardrail. that has since cleared but just an idea of what can happen out there with the damp roads so take it easy. in the mantua section of the

city we have fire crews on the scene with that incident there. be careful about that accident and more crews on the scene with that. here's a two vehicle accident just coming into us from ambler. dekalb pike at plymouth road. this accident blocking a road out there. it's been busy with the roads being damp. >> a terrifying ordeal for a woman in delaware. police are looking for the man who kidnapped and robbed her at gun point. we have photos of the man they say they are looking for. "action news" reporter katherine scott is live there at the wawa in new castle where this all began. good morning. >> reporter: good morning, tam. police are hoping that someone sees these pictures and recognizes this suspect. the victim is a 71-year-old woman we're told that she was not injured but she was approached at this wawa yesterday by a man who had a gun and he forced her to go to a different location. i'll get into that in just a minute but first, look at this picture of this man. this is who police are looking for. they captured this image from

this surveillance footage. they believe the man is between 40 and 50 years old. he was wearing an orange shirt. new castle county police were called about this around 5 o'clock yesterday afternoon and police say the 71-year-old victim had walked out of the wawa on philadelphia pike by beeson road in new castle when the suspect walked up to her. law armed with a handgun and demanded cash but it didn't end there. investigators say the suspect forced her at gun point to drive to the wawa on dupont highway and memorial drive in wilmington. the victim told police she gave him cash before he fled in an unknown vehicle. the new castle county police department has partnered with delaware crime stoppers and they offer rewards of up to $10,000 for an arrest and or conviction in violent crime. now, we're hoping to hear more details about what transpired later on today, but if you have any tips in the meantime, new castle county police want to hear from you. we're live in new castle, katherine scott, channel6 "action news." >> okay, katherine, thank you.

new this morning, a lehigh county jump approved a first time offenders program for a pennsylvania state senator accused of driving drunk. the program gives senator pat brown the opportunity for a clean criminal record. the republican was involvedly in a motorcycle accident in allentown back in may. investigators say he was drunk and lost control of his bike. brown's license had been suspended in the past for drunk driving. >> ♪ >> eight republicans took the stage for the fourth republican presidential debate last night in milwaukee. new jersey governor chris christie wasn't part of that debate but rather won with other candidates who aren't tops in the polls. >> christie focused much of his attention on democrat hillary clinton. >> and the fact is that if you listen to hillary clinton, if she's -- she's made it very clear. she believes that she can make decisions for you better than you can make them for yourself. >> at the debate with the top eight candidates things focused on the economy. ben carson donald trump and marco rubio said they are against raising minimum wage

fewer ingredients. chicken noodle soup has 20 ingredients down from 30 ingredients. the ceo says the company is closing the gap between the kitchen and their plants. stocks ended the day mixed with the s & p 500 snapping its four day losing streak. right now futures pointing to a higher open. volkswagen offering $500 gift cards to owner of vehicles hit with its emissions cheating scandal. they're being offered a $500 credit to be used at vw dealerships. dozens of owners say the company's offer is not nearly enoughly they want the car company to buy back their cars. they say they brought the cars because of advertised fuel efficiency. >> thank you maribel. >> time to turn to david talk about our accuweather. >> all right and we have cloudy start, some breaks in the clouds out there as we take a look at storm tracker6 live double scan, a couple of you still seeing a little sprinkle or very light drizzle or shower out there. most of this popping down in

that little green line you see cutting right through the p in philadelphia but obviously most areas are dry and we are seeing some improvement as we go through the next couple of hours. as we take a look outside, we are getting a little bit closer to the sun coming up and over the ben franklin bridge. you can see that there are some breaks in the clouds. we do expect some sun to start to build back in during the morning. we'll probably see a little bit more in the afternoon. 55 in philadelphia currently. same story in wilmington. 53 is your current number in allentown. 52 in trenton. 54 up in reading. and 54 in millville. 55 in cape may. as we take a look at satellite and radar, there goes the rain from yesterday. just a couple of little spin around sprinkles and showers coming down in that north and northwest flow this morning and you can see some continued breaks in the clouds and we are looking at that sun coming back to at least some degree as we go through the day. 61 degrees is the high this afternoon in the lehigh valley. clouds mixing with sun, a bit breezy but a pretty good looking afternoon overall. down the shore more of the same. clouds in the morning giving way to some sun as we speak an bit breezy with a high of

62 degrees. it will be that clouds and sun mix overall. and in philadelphia, clouds giving way to some increased sunshine as the day goes on. a nice mild high of 65. an bit breezy but winds only about seven to 14 miles per hour. that's not too bad. not exactly bad. if you have veterans day ceremonies in the morning, it's a little cool. you want to dress for. that maybe a little breezy but not bad. and this afternoon pretty good. 64 by 2 o'clock and your high of 65 around 3:00 and that's about six or 7 degrees above average across the region today. just a little bit on the breezy side. tomorrow we are starting out with cloud cover. there might be a little sprinkle around as another system rolls in and as we go through about midday, maybe 11:00, 12 o'clock, 1 o'clock, 2 o'clock there's the chance of an occasional shower. most of us seeing only about a quarter of an inch total and then by the evening commute there's a real good chance we're drying out again. hurricane kate by the way has become a hurricane. really not doing much of

>> ♪ >> welcome back. taking a live look here out across one of the many memorials where we'll see people come later today to remember to thank those in their families and others who have served this country as patriots. it is 6:14 and 55 degrees. >> so, still a little damp out there, karen. >> you know, it's another day where we've got so many problems on the roads and unlike yesterday where we had some heavy rain in spots it's just damp but enough to cause some issues. here's an accident on the ramp from i-95 northbound to woodhaven road. so you see penndot out there

blocking the right lane. and we've got police in a tow truck blocking the left lane so that means people are kind of snaking by around all this. i saw a tractor-trailer try to do that, too. a little tricky right on this ramp right here. so, what happened was this vehicle was just facing sideways right here on the middle of the ramp so now they've got it on the tow truck and it looks like they're getting ready to tow it out of here but they're still blocking the left lane here, the right lane there. still a mess on the ramp from i-95 northbound to woodhaven road. that's the biggest accident but here's a new one and we're hearing people are injured on the scene with this one. this is in dresher montgomery county. limekiln pike 152 at susquehanna road. police are on the scene. they're blocking a lane with that one. we had a two-vehicle accident here on dekalb pike. it just cleared so things moving better now at plymouth road. another new accident in worcester township montgomery county and it's involving a tractor-trailer and two other vehicles. so, police, fire ambulance all the crews are out there right now trying to help with this. valley forge road 363 at pot shop road.

it seems like the accidents just keep coming in. one more issue, it's construction but causes big problems. right now at 54 miles an hour on 495 northbound. no problems. we have seen this number drop to the single digits each morning and i think that's going to happen again right at terminal avenue so stay on i-95 instead of 495. i want to show you what it looks like with satellite6 and action radar and you can really see how that rain from yesterday pulled out. we're left with a little bit of drizzle but we still have the wet leaves on the roads and i think that could be triggering some of the problems as well. temperature-wise it's 51, not too bad in quakertown in warrington, 52 in chester. it's 54 in buena, 54 in dover, delaware. a nicer day ahead with clouds and sunshine, matt and tam. >> thank you karen. brand new this morning, a driver lost control hit a utility pole and then took down some wires in the juniata park section of philadelphia. this happened just before 3:30 this morning on the 4500 block of east fisher's lane. the driver was taken to the hospital for observation. police closed east fishers lane while peco crews made repairs.

>> developing this morning, crews will begin the recovery ever effort and sift through the wreckage of a small business jet that crashed into an apartment building in northeast ohio. you can see the devastation it left behind. that building is a loss. authorities say none of the nine people on board that plane survived. and the jet took off from dayton and planned to land at an airport just about 2 miles away from where it crashed. police say it clipped utility wires on the way down and crashed into the building which was then destroyed by a fire. the plane then hit an embankment causing a nearby house to also burn. the plane burst into flames after impact. there were no reports of any injuries on the ground. >> so loud and then the explosion afterwards, it was like a grinding metal sound. >> what i heard something told me it was definitely a plane but i didn't want to believe it. >> again, crews will be on the site today recovering the bodies of the victims and trying to determine exactly what caused the fatal crash. tam.

wet. here are two of the newest ones. sumneytown pike at 476, the northeast extension a accident could be blocking a lane as well as worcester township. an accident involving a tractor-trailer, two other vehicles. police fire ambulance everybody's on the scene on valley forge road at pot shop road, dave. >> all right, karen, on the big board we are dressing the kids in sweatshirts today. cool enough for it this morning. this afternoon maybe they can throw it over their shoulders ursinus college and west chester university are two schools of the day. here's how numbers are going to go. starting out in the 50's, mid-50's in most neighborhoods and up to 57 by 9 o'clock. then 62 by noon. we are looking at clouds mixing with sun through the day. it's going to be a little bit on the breezy side and your high 65 degrees so if you have plans to head out to veterans day ceremonies, it's a nice day for that. just dress appropriately for these temperatures but it's actually above average by about six or 7 degrees this afternoon in most neighborhoods. on the big board at the airport no major delays as is often the case early but we're seeing some rain reported in boston and also at j.f.k.

ambulance all on the scene. they've all left. that ramp reopened. all lanes back opened. i-95 northbound moving fine. the roads look like they're in pretty good shape, rider, they're drying out but i think we still have some wet leaves out there or wet spots because we're seeing a number of accidents. as we look live at i-95 at cottman that's your southbound traffic, just a little building volume here approaching cottman and approaching girard. really not a bad ride. a 19 minute ride that's pretty easy from woodhaven to the vine so no big deal there but in montgomery county we've got an accident here. we're hearing there are people injured on the scene so you'll see emergency workers here blocking at least one lane and this is limekiln pike 152 at susquehanna road in dresher montgomery county. another accident here right on sumneytown pike. watch for it right at sumneytown pike at the northeast extension. this accident in worcester involving a tractor-trailer and two other vehicles on valley forge road at pot shop road so the accidents just kind of keep coming in. this one has police ambulance firefighters on the scene with that one so you'll see restrictions. route 42 showing just a little damp no big problem on the 42

ordered her to drive to the wawa on dupont highway and memorial drive in wilmington. the victim told police she gave the suspect cash before he fled in an unknown vehicle. the exact details, how exactly the cash was obtained whether it was an atm or otherwise and how much money it was police have not yet said. no injuries were recorderred, though, to that 71-year-old victim. if you have any tips, new castle county police want to hear from you. we are live in new castle, katherine scott, channel6 "action news." >> thank you katherine. police in montgomery county are investigating a violent domestic incident. a man was seriously hurt in a stabbing that happened in a home on akon corn street in lansdale late last night. the man suffered multiple stab wounds. he's in the hospital in critical condition. it's still not clear who stabbed him or why. >> i'm erin o'hearn. new this morning a man asking for hair samples of children is also accused of trying to lure a four-year-old boy into his vehicle. reading police released this

surveillance picture of the suspect's volkswagen jetta. the incident happened friday on the 500 block of minor street. authorities say the man told residents he was collecting the samples on behalf of an amber alert. the four-year-old boy he's accused of trying lure was not harmed. of course if you have seen this vehicle, call reading police immediately. a heinous crime out of hatfield. a six-year-old girl was raped and sexually assaulted in her own bedroom. now, the suspected predator is behind bars. police say oscar herrera broke into the girl's apartment through a living room window. court documents state the little girl was woken up by a male behind her threatening to hurt her and her family if she didn't shut up. herrera apparently didn't know the girl's 11-year-old brother was in the bunk bed below when he heard her screaming, he ran to get their parents for help. the mother then grabbed the little girl out of her bed. >> i have to give great credit to this 11-year-old boy who had the courage to step up and help his sister and great courage to the family for

their restraint that they exercised in what i can only imagine was an absolutely harrowing circumstance. >> reporter: it certainly was. herrera admitted to breaking into the same unit months earlier when no one was inside. his bail is set for a million dollars. >> "action news" learned overnight that a woman hurt by a collision with a car an deer has died. the animal crashed right through the toyota that jamie piscopo was riding in on sunday. it happened on route nine in delaware city. the 48-year-old had serious injuries. she died at christiana medical center yesterday. now this is the height of deer mating season so they're more likely to be out near and trying to crossroads to try to get to one another. state game commissions are urging drivers to stay alert. >> time is now 6:30 and mayor michael nutter main will join other city officials at the korean war memorial to honor veterans on this veterans day. before that the mayor will lead a wreath laying ceremony at the tomb of the unknown revolutionary soldier at washington square. all vets who attend a noontime ceremony at the vietnam veterans memorial on penn's

through the morning and afternoon but there goes the bulk of the rainily we just have a little bit of a sprinkle wrapping through and you can see how those clouds are beginning to break up. really seeing some improvement there. even on the wide view on satellite over the last couple of hours. 54 degrees by 8 o'clock, so if you're headed tout a ceremony early, you'll need to bunk dell up a bit. by 11:00, 61, starting to get better. still a little bit breezy and then by 2 o'clock, 64 with a high of 65 degrees at 3 o'clock. really not a bad veterans day and again running about seven or 8 degrees above average in most neighborhoods this afternoon temperature-wise. high temperatures 61 today in allentown, 62 in reading, so it will be a little bit cooler in those northern suburbs if that's where you're headed today. 64 in trenton, 65 in wilmington, 64 in millville and low 60's for the most part up and down the coast. tomorrow we've got a front coming in from the west ahead of it clouds will be thicker, 63 degrees is the high and at times there will be a little shower and then behind it on friday wind gusts up to 40 miles per hour. it will be clearing out on friday but it will be windy. as for tomorrow's rain, looks like the morning commute is

probably largely dry, just a little sprinkle. then we get into 11 o'clock and maybe up to lunchtime and that's when we have a little better chance of a scattered shower popping through. and then by the time we get into the evening commute it looks like it's dry. so the morning and evening commutes dry for the most part in between about a quarter inch of rain in some spots. your exclusive accuweather 7-day forecast, a nice veterans day. clouds mixing with some sun, a high of 65. a little breezy. and then some light rain as you just saw around the middle portion of tomorrow. 63 is the high. and then we're cooler on friday, 58 degrees but behind that departing system an area of low pressure up to the north, we get a lot of wind. winds gust on friday 30 to 40 miles per hour. it will be ahold onto your hats kind of day. a lot of leaves blowing around and definitely feeling like chilly autumn. and then windy and cooler on saturday with a high of just 54 degrees but a fair amount of sunshine. it looks like the winds ease back a little bit on sunday and we wind up with a fair amount of sunshine and improved high of 60 and really looking good for eagles fans at lincoln financial field for

put the fish in the cooler! >> ♪ >> 6:43. taking a live look at the vietnam veterans memorial at penn's landing. they're having a noon service there today and if you go there and you're a veteran you'll receive a 50th anniversary commemorative pin. happy veterans day everyone. >> indeed much let's go over to karen rogers. it looks like there's a slowdown out there. >> yeah, we're jammed on the schuylkill expressway. we thought maybe we'd see lighter volume with veterans day and some people having off. this is your westbound traffic on the schuylkill expressway looking live at city avenue. pretty jammed as you try to head towards belmont. jammed from the boulevard to gladwyne. no accidents on the schuylkill but a slow go and eastbound is heavy from approaching gulph mills to the curve and again montgomery to girard. you can look at the road conditions here and see we're really drying out but we've

had a number of problems with accidents here so let's go into them. first avenue on the big picture you see those speeds. slow speeds on the schuylkill we talked about but also i-95, 19 miles an hour near girard, 37 miles an hour near cottman so look for that. we had an accident in mantua on 38th street and that has since cleared so traffic moving better in area but other accidents out there. this one we're hearing people injured on the scene so it's blocking a lane here in dresher montgomery county. limekiln pike that's route 152 right at susquehanna road. so police are on the scene with this one. we've got an accident here on sumneytown pike at the northeast extension and they've just now shut down valley forge road because of this accident that's closed right now between skippack pike and township line road. take new york wales road as your alternate to get around the closure of valley forge road. this accident involving a tractor-trailer and two other vehicles. we've got police, ambulance, emergency crews all on the scene so that's why they've shut down valley forge road right there. one more thing i want to warn you about is the construction. we've watched these speeds

drop from the upper 50's to 20 miles an hour on 495 northbound. they'll drop further still. this construction causes big problems. stick to i-95 northbound instead in delaware. let's look at satellite6 and action radar. the rain from yesterday has moved out but we have a lot of low clouds and some drizzle out there this morning, wet levers on the roadway seem to be part of the problem. temperatures aren't too bad. 53 in pottstown, 52 in chester. you're mostly in the 50's in new jersey. 51 in browns mills, 52 in glassboro and 54 in dover, delaware. it's a day with sunshine and clouds but starting it off a little damp, matt and tam. >> okay, thank you karen. a grand jury has returned indictments against 106 members of a motorcycle club in waco, texas. that's most the bikers arrested after a deadly shootout in the parking lot of a restaurant in may. nine people were killed and 20 more were injured. more than 430 weapons were recovered from the scene. the scene was an apparent confrontation between rival motorcycle clubs. and there's a lot of buzz about a device being developed by a company in university city. it's called athena after the
